Camp on science, maths begins

The Harita Dhara Research Development and Education Foundation (HRDEF) started a six-day camp themed ‘fun with science and mathematics’, which was coordinated by Dr Manisha and Anant Bhaskar Garg. The programme that marks the first anniversary of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), will encourage and motivate students to learn science and mathematical concepts through play, films, and project-based approach.

The programme was inaugurated by chief guest Vijay Kumar Garg, a retired Chief Engineer, UP Cooperative Sugar Factories, Lucknow. Gyan Dhara’s students made presentations on the themes of energy, water conservation, Beti Bachhao, Beti Padhao, education for all, climate change through various activities, such as slogan writing, poems and dance.

Gyan Dhara’s student Prayanshi spoke about air pollution and its ill-effects on health and importance of tree plantation to purify air. Students exhibited flower pot, photo frame, pen holder, box and wall hangings made from waste materials to conveyed message to reduce waste and reuse items.

Gyan Dhara is running free Digital Literacy Course since 2014. The chief guest awarded certificates to the students who completed the course in 2015-16. The programme was coordinated by Gyan Dhara students Neetu, Manisha, Alpana, Nisha, Vishal, Naval, Monica, Preeti, Saloni, Heena and Achaal.
