Car falls into Bhakra canal, two missing

Patiala: A car with its two occupants fell into the Bhakra canal near Centurian Enclave, Patiala, at around 4.30 pm this evening. Onlookers said despite repeated pleas by the girl occupant, the driver of the car deliberately sped the car into the canal. Till the filing of the report, divers were trying to locate the couple and the car.

The Civil Lines Station House Officer (SHO) said it seemed that the driver of the car rashly drove it in a fit of rage despite repeated pleas by the girl. “We are yet to identify the boy and the girl but they seem to be local residents,” the Civil Lines SHO said. — TNS
