The Dehradun police and members of the Vasant Vihar Residents’ Welfare Association, at a meeting held here today decided to install CCTV cameras at all crossings and a gate at every entrance of Vasant Vihar.

SSP Pushpak Jyoti assured members of the the Vasant Vihar Residents’ Welfare Association that a verification drive would be started soon in Vasant Vihar and adjoining localities. He approved the setting up of a permanent police picket near Kali Mandir in Vasant Vihar to check the movement of suspected individuals in the colonies.

The SSP assured senior citizens of providing them security. He said a special drive would be launched to apprehend hardcore criminals to control crime in the district.

The SSP said the city policy were focusing on night patrolling. He advised Vasant Vihar residents to employ security personnel in their colonies to check crime. Station House Officers of various police stations had been directed to address the grievances of senior citizens on priority, he added.
