Child labourer rescued
Ambala, May 10
The District Child Protection Officer and the Childline India Foundation today rescued a child labourer (12) from the house of a retired excise and taxation official.
District Child Protection Officer Megha Singla said the team raided the house on a tip-off. She said the retired official could not produce any documents of the child labourer kept in the house.
Singla said the rescued child belonged to Patna. A few months ago, he was working at a house in Gurgaon, and then reached Ambala with the help of a relative, she said.
The child was sent to the shelter house after his medical examination in the Civil Hospital. — TNS
