Civil hospitals in five districts of the state are all set to start the CT scan and MRI test facilities from August 15.
The tests will cost patients 50 to 60 per cent less than the market rates. At Faridabad, the facilities will be made available from August 15.
Spokesperson for the department said construction work was under way at the hospitals in Faridabad, Gurgaon, Panchkula, Panipat and Bhiwani. “The company, outsourced the work, will use its own equipment. We will provide space and supply power to the company,” said Dr Virender Yadav, Senior Medical Officer (SMO), Civil Hospital, Faridabad.
He said the patients would no longer have to shell out more at private hospitals and diagnostic centres. The SMO said it was for the first time that such facilities were being provided in the state. He said the tests would be free for patients under the BPL category while those in the general category would have to pay anything between Rs 800 and Rs 3,000, depending upon the type of test.
