CM announces pucca road up to Lohgarh gurdwara

Yamunanagar, April 20
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced a bridge over the Som river and a pucca road to connect the historic Quila Lohgarh Sahib gurdwara with the nearest Bhagwangarh village in the district.
“The pucca road exits upto Bhagwangarh village and the historic gurdwara associated with Baba Banda Singh Bahadur is located on the border with Himachal Pradesh. Therefore, the government has decided to construct a 2 km road and a bridge over the Som river to connect it with Bhagwangarh village,” said Chief Minister in Lohgarh today.
He further said: “The ‘udgam sthal’ of the Saraswati river at Adi Badri and Lohgarh, the capital of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur’s state will also be connected with one another with a 3 km road.”
He said that a dam would also be constructed at Lohgarh to ensure the availability of water throughout the year. He said that the development of Adi Badri and Lohgarh Sahib would give a huge boost to tourism activities in the area.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also offered prayers at the gurdwara.
The Chief Minister said that he wished to build a memorial at Lohgarh in the memory of Baba Banda Singh as had been built at Chhappar Chirri in Mohali district of Punjab.
