Chief Minister Harish Rawat inaugurated a cafeteria on the Bhimtal campus of Graphic Era Hill University here today.

Addressing a gathering, Harish Rawat said the government wanted to make Uttarakhand an education hub in the country.

The Chief Minister said they would soon open two medical colleges, four veterinary colleges, one law college in the state. On the occasion, the Chief Minister honoured freedom fighter Mathura Dutt Sharma and handed over a cheque for Rs 50,000 to him. Local MLA Sarita Arya said a lot was needed to be done to promote higher educational institutions in hills.
