A delegation of Congress leaders led by state party president Kishore Upadhaya met Governor KK Paul at Raj Bhavan here today and submitted a memorandum demanding action against the BJP legislators who allegedly indulged in unruly behaviour during the Assembly session at Gairsain recently.
The Congress leaders gathered at Rajiv Bhavan at the Congress office. Under the leadership of Kishore Upadhaya, they went to Raj Bhavan and submitted the memorandum to the Governor demanding strict action against the MLAs who misbehaved inside and outside the Vidhan Sabha during the Assembly session at Gairsain.
He said the actions of some BJP legislators were disgraceful. People had lived in harmony in the state since ages but the BJP legislators through their despicable behaviour during the Assembly session at Gairsain had shamed democracy and the state, for which they should apologise to the people.
Upadhaya said the unruly behaviour of the BJP legislators was akin to the atrocities committed on people by the Mulayam Singh Yadav government. “Gairsain is the soul of the state and the government by organising the Assembly session there has proved that it is serious about making it the capital of the state. A new Vidhan Sabha is being built at Gairsain,” he added.
He said MLAs were the saviours of the constitution but BJP legislators through their atrocious behaviour had brought shame to democracy. People with such a mindset should not be made MLAs. He demanded strict action against the BJP members. State Congress senior vice-president Suryakant Dhasmana, vice-president Ravinder Jain, Shankar Chand Ramola, Abdul Razzaq, Yameen Ansari, Aryandar Sharma, former minister Tilak Raj Behad, Jot Singh Negi, and mahanagar unit president Lal Chand Sharma were present on the occasion.
