Congress misleading people on rail line: MP
UNA, FEBRUARY 12
Lok Sabha MP Anurag Thakur today lashed out at state Congress leaders for their remarks that only a sum of Rs 1 crore had been sanctioned for the Una-Hamirpur rail line as against the MP’s press statements that a sum of Rs 2,815 crores had been sanctioned in the Union budget for the same. After paying obeisance at the Radha Krishna temple in Kotla Kalan village near Una city, the MP said such remarks by the Congressmen only reveal their ignorance about the process of fund sanction by the government for projects.
The MP said a token money was always given to begin the work of a sanctioned project. While the initial survey for the 50-km broad gauge line has been completed, the work for preparing the detailed project report of the proposed track, a sum of Rs 1 crores for which has been sanctioned, will begin now.
Anurag blamed the successive Congress governments in the state and in the Centre for delaying the completion of the Nangal-Una-Talwara rail line project. He said the project was sanctioned in 1974, but only about 50 km of the total 80 km-long track has been laid. He said the Narendra Modi led NDA government has speeded up work on the track, which will be completed by the next year.
The MP said the Congress was in the habit of backtracking on their announcements. He said Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh’s poll promise of unemployment allowance to the state’s youth has not been fulfilled like many more made to the farmers, employees, retirees and traders.
