Cong’s Diwali gift to poor — ‘arhar daal’

Congress workers, led by Mussoorie party unit president Satish Dhaundiyal state president of the tourism promotion and culture preservation committee Jot Singh Gunsola and MC president Manmohan Singh Mall, distributed ‘arhar dal’ to the poor as Diwali gift.

They were also served traditional delicacies like ‘daal pakoras’.

Dhaundiyal, while addressing a gathering at a function held at Shaheed Sthal here, alleged that the Central Government had failed to check inflation. The prices of pulses had touch an all-time high.

“Keeping this in view, we decided to distribute a one kg packet of ‘arhar daal’ as

Diwali gift to the poor,” he added. As many as 250 packets were distributed to the needy.

Gunsola said the Congress was trying to dispel the gloom among the poor, who were reeling under the rising prices of the essential commodities.

Congress workers Javed Khan, Bharosi Rawat, Raami Devi, Virendar Panwar,

Kuldeep Rawat, Bhagwati Prasad Kukreti, Harbhajan Thukral, Nand Lal Sonkar,Arvind Sonkar and Ram Prasad Kavi were present.
