Jammu, August 30
To commemorate the golden jubilee celebrations of Dah division located at Palampur, a combined adventure trekking expedition has been launched from Puh to Chumar.
The expedition was flagged off by Brigadier PPS Bajwa, Commander, Thanpir Brigade, from Dharamsala today. The expedition team is being led by Major Dinesh Singh Chahal and Captain Varun Joshi. The expedition will cover a distance of approximately 111 km over a period of 10 days.
The expedition encompasses negotiating treacherous terrain with heights varying from 15,000 feet to 18,300 feet under sub-zero temperatures on self-contained basis.
On the way, the teamwill carry out disposalof garbage dumped bythe trekkers and grazers to save and revive the ecology and development of the region.
