The Nityanand Swami Sewa Samiti has demanded the setting up of a statue of the late Chief Minister Nityanand Swami at Kargi Chowk here.
Samiti patron Vandana Harivyasi today sought the setting up of the statue of Nityanand Swami, the first CM of Uttarakhand, at Kargi Chowk. She also sought a park in his memory.
Samiti members appealed to the Chief Minister to include the life and works of Nityanand Swami in school curriculum. They asked for celebrating December 27, his birthday, as Swabhiman Diwas and remembered the works done by him for the betterment of the region.
Samiti members Yogesh Agarwal, Gopal Puri, Gopal Krishan Mittal and others have written to the Chief Minister seeking adequate honour for the late chief minister. —TNS
