Devotees have deep faith that the blessings of Lord Shiva will end their suffering and bring good fortune to them. They prefer to climb the steep hilltop to reach the destination.

Munish Kumar, a resident of Kullu who is a regular visitor to the temple for years, says that the place was getting adequate popularity year after year and the place could be transformed into a place for spiritual tourism.

However, residents of Khrahal valley have been demanding that the place be developed for tourism purpose. The state government has given approval to set up a ropeway between Kullu and Bijli Mahadev for the convenience of the visitors.

The 60-feet high pole of Bijli Mahadev temple glistens like a silver needle in the sun and a panoramic view of Kullu and Paravati valleys can be seen from the temple.

The temple of Bijli Mahadev is considered to be one of the most sacred in Himachal Pradesh. It is situated at a height of 2,460 meter above sea level in beautiful Khrahal valley of district Kullu in Himachal Pradesh.
