“The traditional craftsmen and women in Didihat use some selected and traditional colours in the manufacturing of the woollen craft pieces while the reality is that these colours are no longer in fashion in the current market,” said SK Nautiyal.

According to Nautiyal, to make the traditional woollen craft on a par with international standards in quality, two new master craftsmen are being introduced in Didihat by the department soon and designs and colours are being changed according to market demands. “We have also decided to showcase these crafts in Delhi in October this year so that these handicrafts get international exposure,” said the Additional Director of Industries.
