In order to facilitate general public and strengthen the working of State Forest Corporation, the state government has opened one more Directorate of the Corporation at Mandi.
Revealing this here today, Forest and Fisheries Minister Thakur Singh Bharmouri said the state government had decided to re-organize the directorates and units of the corporation. Two directorates of the corporation were functional at Shimla and Dharamsala and now one more had been opened at Mandi.
The minister said besides Kullu, Mandi and Rampur divisions, the Directorate at Mandi would also cover Himkashth sale depots Dhanotu, Swarghat and Shamshi.
The Shimla Directorate would cover Sawara, Chopal, Shimla, Solan and Nahan Divisions besides Himkastha sale depots Baddi and Mantaruwala whereas Dharamsala, Chamba and Hamirpur divisions would be covered by the Directorate of Dharamsala. It would also cover Himkashth sale depots Nurpur, Bhadroya and Udaipur.
The Directorate of the Corporation at Mandi would be inaugurated by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh soon, he added.
