LUDHIANA: Dr Tejinder Singh, Professor of Paediatrics and Medical Education and Vice-Principal of Christian Medical College, has been selected for the prestigious Dr BC Roy National Award for Eminent Medical Teacher.

Dr Tejinder Singh, Professor of Paediatrics and Medical Education and Vice-Principal of Christian Medical College, has been selected for the prestigious Dr BC Roy National Award for Eminent Medical Teacher.

The award is conferred by the Medical Council of India to recognise the merit of an eminent medical teacher. Dr Singh has been associated with medical education for more than 25 years and has been nominated as National Convener of the Medical Council of India Fellowship Programme in Medical Education. He also acts as National Consultant for this programme.

Dr Singh is also the founding Director of FAIMER Regional Institute in India. The author of two best-selling books on medical education, over 25 chapters in various books and more than 200 papers in reputed journals, Dr Singh has completed his medical education training from the Maastricht University, the Netherlands.

Dr Singh was earlier selected for the Excellence in Medical Education Award of the National Board of Examinations (under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) as an eminent NBE alumnus.

This is the 3rd time the faculty at CMC, Ludhiana, has received Dr BC Roy Award. The earlier recipients are Dr Alex Zachariah in 1990 and Dr Abraham G Thomas in 2000.
