After a cameo in Zee TV’s show Qubool Hai as Haider, Mohit Sehgal is playing a carefree young man in the show Sarojini. He shares notes on his role and more.
What is your character in the show Sarojini?
The character I play is called Somendra. He is a smooth-talker and knows his way around people, especially his father, who otherwise is an authoritative figure but has a very soft corner for him.
What is the USP of the show?
The show is an attempt to create awareness about the role education plays in making women more independent and confident.
How is Sarojini different from other family dramas?
The most important message we want to spread to the audience is that every woman in our country should be educated. That is the main difference.
How is your experience of working with Shiny Doshi for the first time?
Shiny is a very sweet girl and has experience of having faced the camera before, which clearly shows when she performs. So, we enjoyed working together. Moreover, she looks very beautiful!
Did you always want to become an actor?
Yes, I always wanted to become an actor. There was a phase in my life when my dad was against acting, as he was worried about my future. So, I decided to open a restaurant but after a few days my father changed his mind and asked me to go to Mumbai to try my luck. And it finally happened. I become an actor!
