Mohali, September 30
In the multi-crore drug scam, the local court issued production warrants against 11 accused, including the prime accused, Jagdish Bhola, for not attending today’s hearing.
Meanwhile, only three accused Paramjit Singh Pamma, Jagdish Singh Chahal and Paramjit Singh Chahal attended the hearing. The trial is on in the court of Mohali district and sessions judge.
Giving reasons, the defence councils said Bhola had been lodged in a jail at Mumbai under judicial custody in another drug case, while the rest of the accused could not turn up due to ‘Punjab Bandh’ called by the Sikh bodies.
The accused, who did not attend today’s hearing, included Manjinder Singh Aulukh alias Bittu Aulukh, Sarabjit Singh Saba, Baljinder Singh Sonu, Satinder Singh Dhama, Surjit Singh, Deep Singh, Anil Chauhan, Davinder Singh alias Happy, Harminder Singh and Harjinder Singh. The court has ordered to produce all the accused on the next hearing date on October 23. — TNS
