Eight fresh cases of chicken pox were reported from Gyan Chand Colony, Lohara, today.

As 15 cases were reported yesterday, the number of total affected persons has gone up to 23. Of the 23 affected persons, three are adults and rest are children.

“A medical camp was held today and awareness was also spread among the people in this regard by the rapid response team,” said Dr Ramesh, District Epidemologist.

Dr Ramesh further added that the Health Department would conduct a survey to ascertain the exact reason behind the spread of chicken pox in the area.

The symptoms of chicken pox include fever, headache and the loss of appetite.
