The affected persons had to keep awake to save their belongings from getting damaged by rainwater. BL Bangar, a resident of Phase V, said it rained heavily for about an hour and a half and water started entering houses around 9.30 pm. About 15 houses in a row were badly affected as the area was low lying. The water drainage system proved to be ineffective. It took more than hour after the rain stopped for the water to recede.

He said a pipeline had been laid to solve the problem but it failed to solve the problem. Several household items were damaged due to the water entering the house.
