Chamba, March 1
Deputy Commissioner Sudesh Mokhta has asked the Irrigation and Public Health (IPH) Department to ensure that the people got treated and clean drinking water. The Deputy Commissioner stated this while addressing the officers of various departments at a meeting here. He said regular sampling and testing of water should also be ensured.
He said a team comprising Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), officers of IPH Department and executive officer of municipal committee would inspect the sewage lines at Chamba, Dalhousie and Chowari so that the water contamination, if any, could be checked. The district irrigation plan should be finalized by March 15.
Mokhta directed the Health Department to rationalize the deployment of doctors. He said that necessary steps needed to taken up for construction of parking lots and underlined the need to identify more sites for garbage management.
In order to check illegal mining in the district, he said the officials concerned must be vigilant and conduct surprise raids.
