Padma Bhushan awardee brothers Rajan Mishra and Sajan Mishra told the students about the richness of Indian classical music and said even though many people here are not able to appreciate the western classical music, but Indian music has the richness that it moves people in different parts of the world they perform.

Students also gave birthday greetings to Sajan Mishra by singing a song for him. Rajan Mishra said the brothers have completed 50 years of singing together on stage.

One of the students asked them how they deal with stage fright. Rajan Sharma said that they have been singing religious songs in temples of Benaras since childhood, and have performed in front of the stalwarts of Indian classical music. “So the stage fright vanished during our childhood days,” he said.

Another student asked if it actually used to rain or weather conditions changed when different ragas were sang in the past days, as the stories are heard, Rajan Mishra said it may be a coincidence, but cannot be scientifically true. But it surely changes the mindset of the persons listening or singing these ragas with devotion, he said.

Many students said they loved listening to vocal classical music. “I always felt of classical music to be boring, but liked the performance of these classical musicians today,” said a class VIII student. “I realised that there is so much depth to Indian music after listening to them,” she said.
