Demonetisation has filled the coffers of cash strapped Faridabad Municipal Corporation.
Sources said there had been massive increase in the recovery of dues in the last one month. The MC reportedly collected dues of Rs 24.24 crore from November 11 to December 15, compared to Rs 14.70 crore collected from September to November 10. The MC accepted payment of property tax, water and sewerage charges, development charges, fire tax and licence fee in old currency notes till December 15. On an average, the MC recovered Rs 15 lakh dues on daily basis which shot to Rs 69.26 lakh in the last one month. It collected property tax of Rs 16.52 crore during this period. The DHBVN collected Rs 15.08 crore post demonetisation. — TNS
