Haridwar, October 26

Parents and teachers should focus on the overall development of students. They should be motivated to take part in extra co-curricular activities and sports.

Former Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Swami Chinmayanand Maharaj stated this after inaugurating the three-day annual cultural festival of Shiv Dale School, Jagjeetpur, here yesterday.

Chinmayanand said Shiv Dale School founder and spiritual guru Swami Sharad Puri Maharaj urged students to imbibe positive values and tread on the path of truth.

School principal Kiran Sharma highlighted the efforts of the school in providing modern education and other facilities. Students presented a wide range of programmes, including classical musical folk dance, Bharatnatyam, Rajasthani, Garhwali and Kumaoni dances and western hip hop dance.

A skit on Indian independence was the highlight of the day that was appreciated by all.
