Freedom fighter Ram Krishan Arya (98) was cremated with full state honours in his native town in Peelibanga segment of Hanumangarh. Bharat Ram Meghwal, former Lok Sabha member, Raj Kumar Phanda, MC president, and Subhash Godara, former MC president, were among hundreds of people who offered floral tributes. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kanhaiya Lal Songara laid a wreath on behalf of the state government. Arya’s grandson Rajan lit the pyre.

Arya, born in Suratgarh in 1918, had joined the freedom movement during school days and was later jailed many times while participating in the Quit India and other movements.
