Palampur, December 14

The Dhauladhar range witnessed fresh snowfall while lower reaches were lashed by rain, crippling normal life.

The Chhota and Bara Bhanghal areas turned white. Bara Bhanghal has been cut off, forcing residents to make do with power and water.

Chuni Lal, panchayat pradhan, Bara Bhanghal, said the area had been without power for the past one week, adding that the generator sets installed by the government had stopped functioning.

Intense cold wave has gripped Kangra. Palampur, on Monday, recorded 2 degree Celsius and Billing -2.5 degree Celsius.

The town is reeling under power cuts.
