Much to the relief of students seeking admission, the Fee Fixation Committee in the state has fixed the interim fee for all different para-medical courses being run by private institutions in the state for this academic session.
The committee took this step after the institutions failed to fix the fee on their own within the stipulated time frame, giving anxious moments to students. The interim fee for diploma courses and postgraduate courses has been fixed between Rs 35,000 and Rs 70,000.
Recently, the Pay Fixing Committee headed by retired Justice Gurmeet Ram had given 30 days to private institutions to fix the fee for various courses, but in vain. As a drastic measure, the committee after convening a meeting on Monday, declared the fee structure. Now, all those institutions that have any objections regarding the fee structure can appeal before the committee. For a diploma course under the state quota, the fee will be Rs 35,000, for the management quota Rs 50,000, for the degree course under the state quota the fee would be Rs 45,000, under the management quota the fee is Rs 60,000 for the PG course, under the state quota the fee is Rs 55,000 and under the management quota the fee is Rs 70,000.
