A special assembly on Buddha Poornima was conducted by the music department at Tribune Model School, Sector 29, here.
It began with the prayer asato ma sadgamaya. Anish of Class VIII shared the life history of Gautam Buddha and the importance of non-violence as a supreme dharma, Ahimsa Parmo Dharma.
Riya and Srishti, students of Class V, spoke about the essence of Buddha’s teachings and his message to mankind.
The assembly was concluded by Harmanpreet Singh of Class VII. He explained the noble eightfold path.
Principal Vandana Saxena in her address motivated the students to understand the meaning of silence and master their minds.
