Gladiators bleed Warriors, lift inaugural Swaran Jayanti trophy

Gurugram Gladiators defeated Sirsa Warriors by 19 runs to win the inaugural Haryana Swaran Jayanti T20 League at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium here on Monday.

Batting first, Gurugram Gladiators were bowled out for a modest 125 in 19.2 overs as Sirsa bowlers fired in unison to put the brakes on run scoring.  

Pradeep and Krishan claimed three wickets each, while Naveed Hussain bagged two wickets.

For Gladiators, Bhagminder scored 30 off 31 balls, while Sandeep Singh struck 19 off 12 balls to provide some respectability to the total. 

Needing 126 for victory, Warriors folded up for just 106 runs, handing Gladiators a 19-run victory.  

Sarul Kanwar (24) was the top scorer for Warriors, while Talwinder Singh contributed 20 runs to the chase. Prince Mehra made 16 off 10 balls.

Vikas Uchitra bagged three wickets for Gurugram Gladiators, while Aman Bharti, Sandeep Singh and Bhagwinder claimed two wickets each.
