The Haryana Government has accepted Rai farmers’ demand for more land compensation, paving the way for 13-km leg of Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) Expressway.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of the expressway on January 5. Farmers of seven villages in the Rai Assembly segment had been the opposing the construction 13-km stretch on the grounds that they were not compensated on a par with farmers of Palwal.

In a meeting with farmers here today, Deputy Commissioner KM Pandurang said the government had accepted their demands and sought their cooperation in the early completion of the project.

National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) Chief General Manager BS Singla said the construction company had assured that the 13-km stretch of the expressway would be completed in 400 days. District Bharatiya Kisan Sangh president Tahar Singh Chauhan thanked the government and the DC for accepting their demands and assured help in the early completion of the project.
