London: Four clean energy organisations from India have been shortlisted for this year's prestigious Ashden International Awards, known as the "Green Oscars". The organisations shortlisted for the awards include a Gujarat-based company that specialises in blending sustainability and energy efficiency in buildings with beautiful design and a Rajasthan-based last-mile project to provide the hard-to-reach with access to clean energy.  PTI

US further eases Cuba restrictions ahead of Obama visit 

Washington: The United States further eased travel and trade restrictions with Cuba on Tuesday, just days before a historic visit to the communist-ruled island by President Barack Obama. The US Treasury said the rule changes will make it easier for Americans to travel to the island for "educational" purposes, for US banks to provide more services in the Caribbean country, and US businesses to work more freely there. One suspect killed in Brussels terror raid

Brussels: The Belgian police on Tuesday killed a gunman in a raid on a Brussels apartment linked to November’s Paris attacks, and two others were on the run, state broadcaster RTBF reported. Belgium's federal prosecutor said earlier one or more suspects had barricaded themselves into an apartment after the police had come under heavy fire through a door when carrying out the raid. Belgian media said four police officers were wounded. PTI
