Gyananda School holds musical fest

A musical festival—Saaz & Sargam—on Sufi music theme was held at Gyananda School here Saturday. The participating students were divided into four teams, namely Durga, Bhopali, Bageshwari and Bhairavi.

The judges for the event were the parents of the students. Students sung qw, such as ‘maula mere maula’ by Bageshwari, ‘bhardo jholi meri’ by Bhopali, ‘damadam mast kalandar’ by Bhairavi and ‘tu mane ya mane dildara’ by the Durga team.

The Durga team won the competition, followed by Bhairavi. Bhopali and Bageshwari stood third and fourth, respectively.

School Principal Meenakshi Mehta said, “We believe that all learning should be purposeful. We organised this musical event to discover and to enhance the hidden talent within the students. Winning or losing should not be an important factor in any competition. It is important to have the spirit of participation.”

Students, parents and teachers were also present.
