Hand hygiene activity was conducted at the DAV Model School, Sector 15, for students of Classes from Pre Nursery to V. Teachers highlighted the importance of washing hands and motivated children to keep their hands clean. School doctor also apprised the children about proper techniques of washing hands. Children also made colourful cards with inspirational messages showcasing the importance of cleaning hands. Principal Anuja Sharma appreciated the endeavours of teachers to create awareness among children about health and hygiene.
FOUNDATION DAY
Foundation day was celebrated at the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sector-25 (West). Founder DC Man Mohan Singh; retired assistant commissioner CM Sharma; retired principal JNV Chandigarh; alumni Nitesh Ranjan, DGM, Union Bank Of India; Kewal Sharma, senior vigilance officer, PGI, PTC members were present on the occasion. A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students. Authorities recalled hardships and efforts made to make JNV Samiti. Principal Santosh Sharma presented detailed report regarding the achievements of the school.
BAISAKHI CELEBRATIONS
Aanchal International School celebrated Baisakhi. Children came to school in traditional Punjabi attire. Various activities were arranged and all the students enthusiastically participated in the activities. Students presented scenes on foundation of Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh at Anandpur Sahib and Jallianwala Bagh Massacre in Amritsar. Students were also told that Baisakhi is a seasonal festival and it is celebrated on harvesting of corps. It is an important festival for our Indian farmers. Traditional dance giddha was presented and all the students and teachers danced on the beats of dhol. Principal Manju Sood told the importance of Baisakhi to the students and wished everyone Happy Baisakhi.
ST JOSEPH’S SCHOOL
To mark the celebration of Baisakhi, a special assembly was conducted for the students of Primary Block of the St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44 D. Students narrated the significance of Baisakhi. It was followed by mesmerising performances consisting of Punjabi folk songs and dance by students.
BLUE BIRD HIGH SCHOOL
Panchkula: Baisakhi, the festival of harvesting crops and fun was celebrated with great zeal and zest at the Blue Bird High School, Sector 16. The purpose was to make students aware about the historical background, significance and relevance of Baisakhi. The programme started with speeches on the significance of the festival and a tribute was paid to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birthday.
ST XAVIER’S HIGH SCHOOL
MOHALI: Students of the St Xavier’s High School celebrated Baisakhi with lot of enthusiasm and gaiety. The purpose was to make students aware about the historical background, significance and relevance of Baisakhi. To celebrate the occasion a special assembly was organised and the programme started with a speech by students that highlighted the historical background of the festival.
SHERWOOD CONVENT SCHOOL
Keeping alive the true spirit of festivity, students of Sherwood Convent School, Phase-IV, celebrated Baisakhi with great reverence. They visited Kalgidhar Singh Sabha Gurudwara, Mohali, fields and farms which proved to be an enriching experience for the young ones. Kusum Singhal wished everyone on the auspicious occasion.
GOLDEN BELLS PUBLIC SCHOOL
The school celebrated Baisakhi with great enthusiasm. Path of Japji Sahib was recited by teachers and students. Besides, lots of activities were organised for the students to celebrate the festival.
