Amid controversy surrounding the ban on beef, Independent MLA Abdul Rashid Sheikh aka Engineer Rashid on Wednesday evening hosted a beef party.
Rashid, who heads the Awami Itehad Party and is an Independent legislator from north Kashmir’s Langate constituency, hosted a beef party at the MLAs Hostel lawns here.
The function was attended by Awami Itehad Party workers and drew a crowd of mediapersons.
The controversy had erupted last month when the J&K High Court had asked the administration to implement a monarchical law, which bans the sale of beef and slaughter of bovines in the state.
