Ludhiana: DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur, organised ‘Vedic Havan’ to extend best wishes to the outgoing Class 12 students. Prasad was distributed among students and staff members. Principal Yogesh Gambhir extended his blessings and good wishes to the students for their Board exams and their bright future.

FAREWELL PARTY

A farewell party was organised for the outgoing Class 12 students at Green Valley Public School, Badhni Kalan. The outgoing class performed to entertain other students. Amarjot Singh and Rajwinder Kaur were given Mr Greenite and Ms Greenite titles, respectively. Director Inderjit Singh, Vice-Chairperson Sunderjit Kaur and Principal Rajvinder Kaur Dhillon wished students for their bright future.

SPORTS DAY

The pre-primary wing of Doraha Public school organised second Kindergarten Sports Day. It was a day of enjoyment for the little ones and their parents and grandparents. Rupinderjit Kaur, BDO, Doraha, was the chief guest in the morning. She witnessed the fun march by KG students and released balloons to open the games. Ashish Kumar Sharma, District Deputy Education Officer, was the chief guest in the afternoon and gave away prizes. He also honoured students who had achieved laurels in the district, region and national competitions. The games ended with a cultural event by students of Classes III and IV.

THEME ASSEMBLY

Theme Assemblies are an intrinsic aspect of academic session at Manav Rachna International School enabling children to make meaningful connections among different concepts and develop holistic understanding of the world around them. The third Paragon Assembly on the theme ‘Celebrations’ started with great enthusiasm with the blessings of the almighty. Children explored the essential question “How do people celebrate?” to exhibit their learning to parents. The tiny-tots showcased that celebrations add excitement and fun to life. They demonstrated celebrations from different parts of the world. To name a few: In Vietnam, people celebrate Thrung Thu to enjoy beauty with parade, in Japan Hina Matsuri is celebrated to enjoy the spring season. In Latin America, Quinceanera is celebrated when girls turn 15. Principal Shilpi Gill appreciated the children’s enthusiasm and countless endeavours.

ACTIVITY ON VITALITY OF PLANTS

An activity on the vitality of life givers — trees — was organised at New GMT Public school for playway students. Students enjoyed the activity of pasting leaves in scrapbooks. Students utilised the materials provided by the teacher. Principal Manjit Kaur appreciated the work done by students. Tiny-tots proffered their readiness in learning the auspicious role of trees in the life of the humans.

TRANSFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP

A seminar on ‘A healed me is a productive me’ was organised for teachers of Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, on its premises. Lakhwinder Babbu Gill, a certified and licenced ‘Heal Your Life’ life coach, trained in the philosophy of Louise L Hay was the keynote speaker. The session started with an awareness exercise about own self. The resource person spoke at length on how to love oneself to overcome emotional barriers.

HEALTHY TIFFIN CONTEST

A healthy tiffin is necessary for a child’s nourishment. To imbibe the importance of good health and to inculcate good eating habits among children, a healthy tiffin competition was organised at the kindergarten section of Guru Nanak Public School Model Town Extension. Around 400 students participated in the competition. Their mothers had put in their best efforts to make the tiffin of their child, healthy, nutritious, presentable and tasty. Children were complimented for the nutritious quality of the food and on their presentation. All lunch boxes looked colourful and tempting. Children were also eager to show off their boxes to others. —TNS
