Heritage furniture theft: Cops to quiz hostel staff

CHANDIGARH:The UT police will question the staff of the General Hostel of Boys in Sector 15, Chandigarh, regarding the theft of heritage chairs from its balcony.

The UT police will question the staff of the General Hostel of Boys in Sector 15, Chandigarh, regarding the theft of heritage chairs from its balcony. The cops will also scrutinise the CCTV footage of nearby buildings.

Dr Jatinder Gaud, Warden of the hostel, had complained that someone had stolen four heritage chairs from the hostel balcony.

This is the third incident such incident of theft  in the recent times  

Earlier, 15 chairs and a table, designed by Le Corbusier, was stolen from the storeroom of the Government College of Art, Sector 10, on the night intervening January 18 and 19. Two tables and eight V-shaped cushion chairs were also stolen from the Le Corbusier Centre in Sector 19 on the night intervening September 23 and 24 in 2015. — TNS
