DEHRADUN: Himalayan Day will be observed across the country on September 9 and the main programme will be held in Dehradun.

Himalayan Day will be observed across the country on September 9 and the main programme will be held in Dehradun.

Addressing mediapersons here, Dr Anil Joshi, founder chairman of Himalayan Unity Mission, said Himalayan Day would be observed at 400 venues across the country to highlight its importance. He said the theme would be ‘Contribution of Himalayas and Our Responsibility’.

Dr Joshi said they had also appealed to the NRIs to Himalayan Day in their respective countries.

He said the mission would take out a rally in Dehradun to mark the day. The rally would start from Gandhi Park and culminate at Dunga House. A workshop would also be organised to deliberate on issues pertaining to the Himalayas. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat will be the chief guest at the workshop. — TNS
