Irked over the government’s alleged indifferent attitude towards their demand of regularisation of services, the CSS Hindi Teachers Union, Punjab, began indefinite strike on the Sangrur-Sunam road here on Monday. The teachers were recruited in 2010 under a centrally-sponsored scheme, which was scrapped in March 2012. The government adjusted them in the Education Department, but at a reduced salary of Rs10,300 per month against Rs18,000 a month.
