Horse riding, exhibitions mark founder’s day of Nabha school

The 56th founder’s day was celebrated at The Punjab Public School, Nabha, yesterday.
Vice Admiral Satish Soni CIC, Eastern Naval Command, who is an alumnus of the PPS Nabha of the 1971 batch, was the chief guest on the occasion.
The school also bestowed the Lifetime Achievement Award upon a former school teacher, YP Bhardwaj, who could not attend the function. Earlier in the day, the Best Senior House Trophy donated by the President of India went to Sutlej House, while the Best Scholar Award was bagged by Chirag Bajaj.
Arshdeep Singh Sidhu was declared as the best sportsman. Students also performed horse riding, tae kwon do and PT during the function. There were live exhibitions by students displaying the daily life of students.
Meanwhile in a return gift to his school, the Vice Admiral, Satish Soni, gifted the model of a ship (INS Frigate), a replica of a Naval Submarine and also announced to set up a new trophy for a student who shows most improvement during his stay in the school.
In his address, PPS Headmaster Jagpreet Singh said the school had achieved new heights in academics and overall infrastructure and the entire staff deserves a special mention for the hard work they had put to ensure that students pass out not only as brilliant students but also as better human beings.
