The government has launched a web-based centralised file movement and tracking information system in the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA). An official spokesman said it enabled the officials to track the file.

He said the new system had been implemented as the tracking of physical movement of files and papers under consideration had become a great challenge both for the staff and the applicants . Most of the grievances were, therefore, used to be either registered at CM’s Window or ended up in the form of RTI queries from the applicant seeking the status of the file.

As this new system was web-enabled, any file could be accessed from any location or office across the state, the spokesman said.

He said the salient features of the new system included initial diary as all types of receipts could be diarized at the central diary unit or in an individual office or branch. Thereafter, a unique receipt number would be generated and the facilities like attachment of a PDF document and date-bound schedule would be available.

The spokesman said rigorous in-house training programme had been conducted for HUDA staff.
