The IIT-Ropar has got 11th rank in parameters of Outreach & Inclusivity (OI) against its 105th ranking last year as per the India Rankings 2017. The rankings are conducted by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development, and Government of India. Among new IITs, the institute is ranked 3rd in overall and 5th in the engineering category. Started in 2015-16, the NIRF is an indigenous ranking framework for higher educational institutions in the country. —TNS
