Man held with smack at Mohali court complex
Mohali, October 8
The police arrested a man with five grams of smack from the Mohali district courts complex this afternoon.
The accused, Manmohan Singh (33), was entering the court complex when a police official deputed at the main entrance of the complex made a routine search and recovered five gram of smack from his pocket.
Inspector Mahesh Saini, Station House Officer of the Mataur police station, said the accused was immediately arrested.
“During his preliminary interrogation, he admitted that the drug was meant for his own possession. We are investigating whether he was going inside the court to deliver it to some accused/undertrial or some other person,” said the SHO.
A case under Sections 22, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at the Mataur police station. — TNS
