Amrita Puri, who made her Bollywood debut in Rajshree Ojha’s film Aisha and was last seen in Blood Money, is ready to take centrestage with Nikhil Advani’ fiction show Prisoner Of War, which is set against the backdrop of Kargil War in 1999. She talks about it and more.

What is the show about?

It is a high-octane family drama. The story is expected to take viewers through the journey of the lives of two couples — Harleen–Sartaj, Nazneen-Imaan — and the aftermath of the return of the war heroes after 17 years.

How did you prepare for Harleen’s character?

To get into the skin of the character, I try to be a woman who is going through such emotional conflicts while waiting for her missing-in-action husband. I try to put myself into Harleen’s shoes and live her character.

How is your chemistry with co-stars?

My co-stars, Purab Kohli, Manish, Satyadeep Mishra and Sandhya Mridul, are great actors to work with.

When is the show expected to go on-air?

The show will go on-air this festive season.

How many episodes will it have?

The show spans over five months with 126 episodes.
