Income ceiling for BPL, DPL families raised

The state government has revised the annual income ceiling of below poverty line (BPL) families and those living below double poverty line (DPL) in both rural and urban areas for various schemes assisted by banks and the National Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC).

Krishan Kumar Bedi, Minister of State for Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, said here that the annual income ceiling for BPL families living in rural areas had been hiked to Rs 49,000 from Rs 40,500 and Rs 60,000 from Rs. 51,500 for those living in urban areas.

Similarly, for DPL families, the annual income limit had been revised to Rs 98,000 from Rs 81,000 in rural areas and to Rs 1.2 lakh from Rs 1.03 lakh in urban areas.
