Ambala, April 21
Ratan Lal Kataria, Ambala BJP MP, today took a dig at former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpyaee-led government saying the BJP failed to retain power in the 2004 elections due to the India Shining campaign.
He was speaking to mediapersons at the PWD rest house in Ambala City today. Kataria said, “The Vajpayee government was the only one that did maximum work for the country, but we got tricked into the India Shining campaign and started thinking that votes will come to us automatically. Kumari Selja defeated me by a margin of 2.35 lakh votes”.
Meanwhile, he used unsavoury remarks in context with Kumari Selja. He also targeted bureaucrats and said, “If some officials are not taking government orders seriously, we have the ability to make them do so”.
Nayab Saini, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, and Aseem Goel, Ambala City MLA, accompanied Kataria.
