Accepting a long-pending demand of the region, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced that a sainik school would be established in Matanhail village of Jhajjar district.

He stated that the Ministry of Defence was in favour of establishing a sainik school here and had expressed this in a communiqué in response to the state government’s proposal in this respect. He was addressing a gathering during the Jhajjar ‘vikas’ rally in Matanhail village. “The stone of the sainik school will be laid as soon as the Ministry of Defence accords final nod to the proposal,” he said.

Khattar said the state government had signed an MoU with the Railway Ministry to set up a joint venture company for development of rail infrastructure in Haryana. The move would address the issues of financing and land acquisition, he added.

“The company will construct overbridges or underbridges at railway crossings across the state. It will develop railway stations and lay railway tracks in the state as well,” he said.

Khattar announced that vacancies of college lecturer would be taken care of soon. He stated that 3,700 of the 6,500 posts of college lecturer had been lying vacant and the government would fill these on merit.

Efforts were being made to provide employment to 5 lakh unemployed persons in the state, he added. He inaugurated two development projects and laid the foundation stone of another project.

Bahadurgarh MLA leaves midway

Naresh Kaushik, BJP MLA from Bahadurgarh, and his supporters left the rally midway in protest against ‘disrespect’ by the organisers to his supporters. Kaushik had heated arguments with some local leaders over the issue. “Since the organisers did not let my supporters sit on the dais, I had to leave midway. I cannot see disrespect for my supporters,” he told reporters. The organisers refuted the charge.
