Union Minister of State (MoS) in the PMO Jitendra Singh today paid tributes to late Sarvanand Koul Premi on his 25th death anniversary at KL Saigal Hall here.
A function in this connection was organised by the J&KAcademy of Art, Culture and Languages.
The Union Minister said the writer was always connected at the grass-roots level and worked for the uplift of the downtrodden and weaker sections of society, particularly below average students.
Sarvanand has written 18 literary books and also translated the Gita and Ramayana into Kashmiri.
Jitendra said as a poet and writer, Sarvanand had contributed to the field of Kashmiri, Urdu, English and Hindi literature.
A musical tribute was also paid to the writer. — TNS
