JKTDC opens restaurant offering Kashmiri cuisine

In order to offer tourists the best Kashmiri food, Minister for Roads and Buildings Syed Altaf Bukhari inaugurated a first-of-its-kind ethnic food restaurant ‘Wazwan’ at Heemal hotel on the Boulevard road here today.

The restaurant has been opened by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourist Development Corporation (JKTDC).

Speaking on the occasion, Bukhari said the flourishing of the tourism sector was vital for the state’s economy and the government was giving special focus to develop necessary infrastructure and create facilities that offer best services to the tourists.

The Minister for Roads and Buildings said the JKTDC over the years had demonstrated its potential to host a large number of tourists across the state, offering them best facilities at reasonable prices. He said the government had taken up upgrade works on hotels, huts and restaurants, including the infrastructure available with the JKTDC.

Speaking at the function, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, underscored the need to create necessary facilities to accommodate all tourists visiting the state at present and in the coming years.
