Five volumes of a book, JIIA Archives, each comprising six journals, edited by Surinder Bahga, a city-based architect were released by Chandigarh Mayor Poonam Sharma recently. The function was attended by 200 architects, engineers and planners.
JIIA Archives is a biannual compilation of six journals in the form of a book available through various channels, both internationally and in India. The JIIA Archives has become collector’s item for students of architecture and architects alike, as a reference material. Another major initiative in the publication was to appoint guest editors to fetch better talent across the country.
It is an initiative taken up by the IIA in collaboration with White Falcon Publishing to preserve and share the knowledge, experience and innovativeness of Indian architects with wider and global audience. “These fine books are excellent compilations of Journal of Indian Institute of Architects (JIIA). These will be of immense value for students and architects globally,” said the Mayor. — TNS
