Justice (retd) SN Dhingra today refuted allegations of accepting favours from the Haryana Government for a trust headed by him.

“I do not consider seeking construction of village roads or working for the education of underprivileged children amounts to accepting a bribe,” said Justice Dhingra, in a statement issued today.

Claiming neither he nor any of the trustees held any land in the villages where construction of road was requested, he asserted, the trust did not have any government patronage for the past 43 years.

He said even as a Judge of the Delhi High Court he had been writing to the authorities for public cause. “I have never been involved in any cause for publicity or personal gain,” he added. — TNS
